Crow

Flickr Image by Darcys

Clever scavengers ,
scanning nearby ground,
planning your next steal,
watching who’s around.

Stubbornly aloof,
not budging an inch,
cohorting in crime,
hiding what you pinch.

Harmony disturbed,
piercing shrills rebound,
unrelenting calls,
steadfastly resound.

Sleep-ins now destroyed,
such a dreadful blow,
maddened I cry out,
“stone that flamin’ crow!”
